Katie Holt, more commonly and affectionately referred to as Pidge, is the protagonist and a survivor of the outbreak in Voltron: Legendary Apocalypse. Before the world fell, she previously snuck into the Galaxy Garrison as a male student by the alias of "Pidge Gunderson" to secretly gather information about her father and brother who went missing and and were presumed dead on a space mission to Pluto's moon, Kerberos.
While there, she mostly kept to herself, but did occasionally hang around her class crew-mates, Lance McClain and Hunk Garrett. Lance's cheerful outgoing behavior and Hunk's softer empathetic side eventually broke her out of her antisocial isolation shell. She attended under the false identity until her family returned, and she was exposed and expelled as a student, and banned from the premises entirely.
Pre-Apocalypse[]

Nothing much is known about Pidge's life prior to the outbreak, other than she lived in her hometown of Prescott, Arizona with her family.
The Galaxy Garrison[]
For about a year, she masqueraded as a boy to secretly attend the Galaxy Garrison, in order to find information on where her family in space really was.

Trivia[]
- Pidge mentions that Jackson called her a "midget" at some point. This is because Pidge is only 4 feet and 9 inches tall (about 145 cm). Pidge doesn't have any growth defects, she's just a strangely short 15 year old.
- Pidge is the first LGBT character encountered in the series. Behind her are Shiro, Adam, and Windy.
- Pidge and Lance are the only characters to have appeared in every single episode so far.
- Her and Hunk are also the only two characters to appear and speak in every episode of Season 1.
