Casting Order

Main Cast

When it comes to ordering the main cast and choosing who is in it, J's ideas on how to order them changed often and will continue to. In the first season, he ordered the cast alphabetically and only included the core family members, the Azvedo-Clarke-Mason family. Even though the Kellin's and Cody were in every episode, J wanted it to seem like they could still be killed off and did not want any main cast deaths in the first season.

Season 2 kept the alphabetical order and added Vikki and Thomas. Season 3, however, changed so the main cast members who survived Season 2 were randomized, then added Boneta, Ang and Garcia, and later as the season progressed Underwood, Knight and Wever. Merritt Wever's character is only credited in episodes she is in, which will begin a new order in Season 4. J is officially making it so all cast members are only credited in episodes they appear in and plans to keep that for the remainder of the series.

J orders the also starring cast members based on the order they appeared in. So far, he has not used series regulars, but is expected to in Season 4.
